Kangaroos
Kangaroos are a distinctive Australian animal, but can also be found in some surrounding islands. They are herbivores, feeding mainly on various grasses, and can survive without water for long periods of time. They usually occupy forests, woodlands, grassy plains or savannas. The male kangaroo is called a ‘boomer’, the female is called a ‘flyer’ and the baby a ‘joey’. They live together in groups called ‘mobs’ which are lead by the largest and most dominant male.
